Costa Rica, Sea Moss and the changing seasons...

I forgot to write about Costa Rica earlier this summer, it was so mesmorizing for me it's hard to write about. My family came home saying "eh, I am not sure I would go back" and I came home saying "I want to buy a house there". It is my vibe - beachy, eco, green, lush, warm, laid back. The people are great and the land feels so alive. Yes there are draw backs, but none of it phased me, more below. My father came with us. We stayed in Tamarindo in a gated community about 45 min from the downtown, we took surf lessons, zip lined, ATV'd, swam, cruised etc etc. Very adventurous. A quick note about some of the challenges: the road system is a bit wonky, flooding can happen quickly, some roads might be out of commission without notice causing massive delays, crocodiles can be in the ocean, beware! and it is very expensive to buy food at the grocery store. Way more then you would think. Some photos...

Other bits:

  • I love Rich Roll as I have said before, his podcasts are always thought provoking, educational and often inspiring. His last guest, Babette Davis, a 72 year old vegan chef talked about Sea Moss, the super food, I guess it is all the rage in vegan communities in LA. Ocean grown and nutrient packed. I found it on amazon and will be trying it out. There is always some new food fad going on but I am always willing to try new superfoods that boost immunity. Check out the podcast here, she is pretty kick ass.

  • Change of season always throws me off. It is such a marker of time changing, which reminds me it is moving fast. I go through ups and downs the first few weeks before I settle into acceptance. What helps me? I try to embrace change, see time as opportunity ahead, the whole "be in the now" thing. It is hard but it works when I can actually do it. I also push myself on trying new things and being more productive. Not advice, just what I do!

  • Great article in the NYT today, they want you to stare at this peice of art for 10 min. Which I did for 2 min total. Try it out. What did you see?

All for now!
